Upvoted: I need to learn javascript and jquery fast

Just a bit about myself. I know programming concepts as I’ve worked in java, php, html and css. My web skills would be complete if I knew my way around javascript and it’s libraries. I have completed the code academy course on javascript but found that is really just covers basic programming and syntax and doesn’t actually explain how it interacts with the DOM.Could someone please give me a good resources, books, lectures or recount how they learnt javascript so I can start creating image sliders and cool animations.TLDR; I know the syntax of javascript but not how it interacts with the DOM, can someone point me in the right direction, please and thank you. Thanks in advance. via /r/web_design http://ift.tt/1l44rHs http://bit.ly/1w0P72E

Upvoted: Live chat software without monthly fees

Do you guys have any good recommendations for live chat software that doesn’t carry a monthly fee?I’d actually rather pay up front I think then have to pay every month. Not 100% sure why I feel like that though. I guess because I plan on sticking with it for a while.I currently use livezilla which I find is great, though i will be switching toac shortly and they don’t have a Mac client. I also don’t want to be running parallels all the time. via /r/web_design http://ift.tt/1l44rHs http://bit.ly/1s1kRNB

Upvoted: My Front-End Development Workflow

I just wrote my first blogpost about my Front-End Development Workflow here!I’d love to get some comments (either here, at the blog or on twitter) about anything, be it about the workflow itself, my style of writing or whatever else you can think of. Also, I’d love to hear about your Workflows and Tools, and what you think I can improve in mine! via /r/web_design http://ift.tt/1l44rHs http://bit.ly/1s1kRx9
